Standard EN 1948

After revision of the EN 1948 standard, this standard is opened for the use at various concentration ranges. Therefore also the  measurement of dioxins in Ambient Air can be done, following the EN 1948 standard.

The use of the EN 1948 standard as a basis offers following advantages:

Well defined sampling standard, extraction standard and injection standard

Well defined quality criteria for the sampling process

Well defined quality criteria for analytical determination in the laboratory

In detail this can be done best by using the sampling equipment of the dilution method at an air flow of 4 m3/h through the cartridge. At the flow of 4 m3/h the cartridge of the WindSelect+® Ambient Air DioxinMonitoringsystem is designed to fulfill the quality criteria for the sampling process of the EN 1948 standard, which are:

Plane filter efficiency of 99,5% (dust sampling)

Filter area loading below 0,5 m3/m2s

Adsorbtion efficiency for gaseous PCDD/PCDF higher than 90%

Recovery rate of each sampling standard better than 50%

According to EN 1948 the accuracy of the volume measurement shall be better than + 2%. The accuracy of the temperature measurement shall be better than + 1%.

With our device the volume is measured with a temperature compensated gas meter, which is calibrated for eight years to have an accuracy better than +1%.
