Dioxin
and POPs samples of the ambient air show the pollution situation directly at the site of interest.
The WindSelect+ is a device to sample persistent organic pollutants (dioxins, PCBs, other POPs, etc), as well as fine dust (PM10, PM 2.5, PM1) from the ambient air for up to one
month at a flowrate of 4,0 m³/h. This device can also be used for short-term samplings.
In the standard version, two cartridges enable sampling in
dependence of the wind direction. In the
top version, three cartridges enable to differ between 2 wind directions as well as calm situations.
Two cartridges enable sampling in dependence of the wind direction. The third cartridge enables to sample only during calm wind situations. The air is sucked through the cartridge designated for the calm sampling whenever the wind speed is below the calm limit, e.g. 0,5 m/sec. The other cartridges are used in case of a wind speed higher than the calm limit configured and the wind direction fitting to the respective wind sector.
A large filter area and a moderate volume flow of 4,0 m³/h enable long term high sampling efficiency. Sampling periods of 2 months are possible.
The equipment is designed for easy transport and for outdoor use. Configuration is done by use of a touch screen, data download is done by using the LAN interface.
