Standards and Methods
Cartridge
preparation
In the laboratory, one plane filter and two or three
PU-foam filters are
inserted into the cartridge and
the sampling standard is spiked to the plane filter.
Sampling procedure
The cartridges are connected with quick connectors, the 90 mm laminar tubes are
mounted to
the cartridges. The sampling data are reset and the wind sensor is connected.
After the respective configuration, the measurement is started. The
device samples
4 m3/h automatically, the cartridge is selected dependening on the
configuration of the sectors and the calm limit.
After the sampling period, e.g. 4 weeks, the sampling values are checked and
noted. The cartridges are unmounted, sealed with the cap and transported to the
laboratory, In the laboratory, the cartridges are evaluated, e.g. using EN 1948.
- The minimum flow sucked through each cartridge has to be 50
m3, which
results in a detection limit of 2 pg/m3 for dioxins.
- Using TS EN 1948-4, I-TEQ PCB can be evaluated. Evaluation of
PCBs needs a minimum sampling
volume of 200 m3 per cartridge.
The cartridges are rinsed after the procedure and prepared for the next use.
